Introduction to the Gallery

Welcome to YBE!  My name is Allison, and I am currently serving on the board for our magazine.  I am extremely excited for the beginning of our new website and the possibilities of what it will become.  I would like our website to essentially be the information and expression site for young Asian Americans and young Buddhists. There currently aren’t any other platforms for this demographic as a community, and thus, YBE is really essential in that regard to build bridges and create new connections.  As we are a welcoming and inclusive site, I would like for YBE to be a safe space for all readers, contributors, and supporters, meaning being aware of other opinions, making no discriminatory or hateful speech, and being mindful while stepping into the site.  We are open to opinion pieces and expressions so it is always important to be cognizant of others.  Essentially, I hope everyone who comes and checks out the site is able to find something meaningful to them.

Art is something that always inspires me in my everyday life so I think it is great that we have a section for creatives on our site!  As Art Gallery Director, I want there to be a space for all the artists to showcase and share their work with the community.  This is a place for self-expression, go crazy! I can’t wait to read all of your posts and see all of your artwork, no matter the medium.

Although the art section of the website is currently displaying only photography and some 2D pieces, I would love to see a diverse range of media! Feel free to share paintings, graphic design, tattoos, videography, poetry, music etc. with us.  Whether it is Buddhism related or not, there is a space for your work in the Young Buddhist Editorial.

I am thrilled to see how this organization evolves and expands! Please join us on that journey as we continue to share engaging and meaningful content.  Thank you for supporting our editorial! Gassho.
