Past the hair pin bend there is a check post where the bus stops for a few minutes. The road then follows a straight line to the bustling town of Karkala. A troop of monkeys converge at this point begging for food. A passenger throws out an empty water bottle which an old hairy primate picks up to put in a recycle bin.

*Kriya is a Sanskrit word where 'kri' means action and 'ya' is the atman or soul. Kriya means an action or effort involving the self.
